Blogging is a whole new world to me that I don’t fully understand or comprehend. This is my very first blog and the first time I have looked at blogs and evaluated them. I believe that blogging has changed the world, but only slightly. This seems to me to be a way a lot of young minds use to get there feelings and thoughts out there, a lot of people don’t even care if someone reads it, they just want it out there. I also believe blogging has helped a lot of un-published authors get known. I’m sure there are several stories of people just putting there work on the web and it gets caught by a publisher and that’s that.
When I first looked at a personal blog by a friend it kind of surprised me to see that someone can just sit down and type about nothing and have people read it and critique it. I think it takes a great deal of courage to be able to put your thoughts on to a page and put it out for everyone to see. Now, when I turned to look at business blogs it was something completely different. They use there blogs to get fast money out of people and for advertisement. Although I’m sure not all business blogs do this the one’s that I looked up were just advertising for there company and trying to appeal to a certain marketing group.
Twitter was also another first for me; I had never used it or found a need to use it before. When I started it it seemed fairly simple which is a good thing, many people usually won’t spend much time doing something everyday if it’s complicated. I followed a couple celebrities and some of my own friends and found it’s just a fast way to let people know what’s going on in your life. The differences I found between this and blogging is I feel blogging is more personal and people might put a lot more energy into there blogs then into there tweets. I could see in the future blogging expanding and getting bigger but I think things like twitter and facebook will always be around, but can’t really go anywhere but where they are. Overall I think blogging is the better of the two if you want people to really understand who you are, not what you’re doing.
